More Than an Expo: Celebrating the People, Connections, and Memories of the 7th Annual Lee County Senior Expo
Some of the most meaningful moments in life happen when people come together, share a conversation, exchange a smile, or discover that someone in their community genuinely cares. This past Saturday, October 10, 2026, those moments filled the North Fort Myers Recreation Center as Southwest Florida seniors, veterans, families, local businesses, and community organizations gathered for the 7th Annual Lee County Senior Expo, proudly hosted by We Know Life & Health. What began as another exciting opportunity to bring valuable resources together became a beautiful reminder of why we continue to organize this event year after year.
As we look back on this year's Senior Expo, our hearts are filled with gratitude. From the moment attendees began walking through the doors, the recreation center came alive with conversations, friendly faces, colorful vendor booths, and people eager to connect. Some guests arrived hoping to find answers to important healthcare questions, while others came to discover local services, reconnect with familiar faces, or simply enjoy a day dedicated to celebrating our senior community. Whatever brought them through the doors, we hope everyone left feeling a little more informed, supported, and connected.
One of the most rewarding parts of the day was seeing seniors engage directly with the businesses and professionals who serve our community. Throughout the event, attendees explored informational booths, reviewed brochures, asked questions, and learned about services that could make a difference in their everyday lives. From healthcare and Medicare information to senior-focused services and other community resources, the Expo created opportunities for meaningful face-to-face conversations that can sometimes be difficult to find in today's increasingly digital world.

Looking through the photographs from the event, we're reminded that the true value of the Senior Expo cannot be measured by the number of tables, brochures, or giveaways. It's found in the moments when someone takes the time to listen, when a senior discovers a helpful resource they didn't know was available, or when a local professional has the opportunity to offer reassurance and guidance. Those interactions may seem small, but they represent something incredibly important: a community where people continue to look out for one another.
The day also reminded us that bringing people together should be about more than sharing information. It should be about creating an experience worth remembering. The event was filled with lively interactions, festive displays, colorful decorations, and opportunities for attendees to enjoy themselves while exploring everything the Expo had to offer. From welcoming vendor representatives to thoughtfully arranged giveaway baskets and community tables, there were so many wonderful details that contributed to the atmosphere.
And, of course, we couldn't forget the smiles and laughter that make our Senior Expo gatherings so special! The entertainment, including the wonderful energy of the Hot Flashz, added a joyful spirit to the celebration. Seeing people enjoy the performances, interact with one another, and take part in the festivities reminded us that staying connected and having fun are just as important as accessing helpful information. We want our seniors to know that these events are created not only to support their needs but also to celebrate the joy, friendships, and experiences they deserve.
Another highlight was the incredible variety of local businesses, healthcare representatives, nonprofit organizations, and community partners who participated. Each booth represented a different way to serve Southwest Florida residents, and each participating organization contributed to making the Expo a welcoming place to explore available resources. Whether someone was searching for information about senior healthcare, discovering a local service, or speaking with a representative about future needs, the opportunity to connect with knowledgeable people in one convenient location made the day especially meaningful.
For us, the relationships formed and strengthened during the Expo are among the greatest reasons to celebrate. We love welcoming new faces, but there's also something especially heartwarming about seeing familiar attendees return year after year. Those returning guests remind us that the Lee County Senior Expo has grown into more than an annual event. It has become a community tradition where people know they can find helpful information, friendly conversations, and organizations that genuinely want to make a positive difference.

Behind this tradition is a story that began long before the first Senior Expo. Sixteen years ago, Dale and Rachel Earp started We Know Life & Health at their dining room table, driven by a shared desire to help people navigate important insurance and healthcare decisions with greater confidence. What began with a personal commitment to serving others has grown into a mission that continues to touch the lives of seniors, veterans, and families throughout Southwest Florida.
For Dale and Rachel, the heart of We Know Life & Health has always been about the people they serve. Insurance and healthcare decisions can be complicated, but the experience of seeking guidance should never leave someone feeling unheard or alone. That belief has shaped the relationships they've built, the work their team does every day, and the community events they continue to support. The Lee County Senior Expo is one of the most meaningful ways to bring that commitment beyond the office and into the community.
As we celebrate seven years of bringing the Senior Expo to Southwest Florida, we're especially thankful for the people who have helped this vision grow. To every vendor who prepared a booth, every sponsor who contributed resources, every volunteer and team member who helped organize the event, and every community partner who shared their time and expertise, thank you. Your participation helped create an experience where seniors and their families could feel welcomed, respected, and supported.
To our seniors and veterans, we want to extend an especially heartfelt thank-you. You are the reason we continue to bring this event to life. Your stories, experiences, wisdom, and contributions have helped shape the communities we are proud to call home. It is a privilege to create opportunities that recognize your importance and connect you with people and organizations who care about your well-being. Every smile, conversation, and shared moment reminds us why this work matters so much.

We are also grateful to the families, caregivers, friends, and neighbors who encouraged their loved ones to attend. Supporting our senior community is something we accomplish together, and events like this show what can happen when local businesses and residents share that responsibility. The Senior Expo is not just about finding answers for today. It's also about building relationships and awareness that can help families feel more prepared for tomorrow.
Although the 7th Annual Lee County Senior Expo has come to a close, the connections made throughout the day don't have to end there. We hope attendees will continue reaching out to the organizations they met, exploring the resources they discovered, and sharing helpful information with friends and family members who may benefit. Sometimes, one conversation can become the beginning of a valuable relationship, and one helpful introduction can lead to greater confidence and peace of mind.
We're also already thinking about how to make next year's Expo even more meaningful. Every event gives us an opportunity to learn, grow, and better understand what our senior community values most. We want to continue bringing together a diverse range of helpful organizations, creating enjoyable experiences, and making it easier for attendees to find the information and support they're looking for. The ideas, suggestions, and experiences shared by our attendees, vendors, and sponsors will play an important role in shaping what comes next.
As we turn the page on another wonderful year, we're excited to look ahead to the 8th Annual Lee County Senior Expo on Saturday, October 9, 2027. We hope to welcome back familiar faces, meet new community members, and continue building on the relationships that have made this gathering so special. Whether you've been with us since the beginning or joined us for the first time this year, you're part of a growing community that makes these events possible.

As we reflect on the memories captured in this year's photographs, one thing stands out above everything else: the heart of the Lee County Senior Expo has never been the event itself, but the people who make it meaningful. It's the seniors who share their stories, the veterans who deserve our appreciation, the businesses that show up to serve, and the community members who believe that caring for one another makes Southwest Florida a better place.
From Dale Earp and Rachel Earp and the entire We Know Life & Health team, thank you for making the 7th Annual Lee County Senior Expo a meaningful celebration of care, connection, and community. Seven years of bringing people together, sixteen years of serving seniors and veterans, and countless reasons to be grateful. We can't wait to create more wonderful memories with you next year! 💙
